Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Todra Gorges
Your 5 days tour from Fes to Merzouga Desert begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Fes. We will travel through the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, passing beautiful towns like Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, and the Cedar Forest, home to the friendly Barbary monkeys.
We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, famous for its apples, then continue our way through Imilchil before arriving at the stunning Todra Gorges, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by impressive canyon views.
Day 2: Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, we leave Todra Gorges and travel through Tinghir and Tinjedad on our way to the Merzouga Desert. Once we arrive, your camel trekking adventure begins!
You’ll ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy the sunset over the desert, and end the evening with a traditional Berber dinner and music around the campfire under the starry sky.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Tour
Today is all about exploring the Merzouga Desert. After breakfast, we’ll visit the Berber Nomads to learn about their simple desert lifestyle. Then, we’ll continue to M’Ifiss, a historic kohl mine once used by the French.
Next, we’ll visit Khamlia Village, home of the Gnawa people, where you’ll enjoy their spiritual Gnawa music. We’ll also explore the National Auto Museum and a few peaceful desert oases before returning to your camp for another relaxing night.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt
After breakfast, we’ll ride camels back to the village and start our journey to Midelt. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the green Ziz Valley, filled with thousands of palm trees and small Berber villages.
In the evening, we’ll reach Midelt, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 5: Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
On the last day of your Fes to Merzouga desert tour, we’ll drive back to Fes through the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop again at the Cedar Forest to see the monkeys and take some great photos.
