Tour itinerary
Giorno 1: Marrakech – Alto Atlante – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Valle del Dades
Pick-up at 8:00 a.m. from your riad or hotel. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, enjoying scenic stops to take photos of the Berber villages hidden in the valleys. Our first major stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a legendary fortress and location for films such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.
After free time for lunch, we will continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and home to the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. From there, we will cross the oasis of Skoura and the fragrant Valley of Roses, where rose water is produced and the annual Rose Festival takes place. In the evening, we will arrive in the beautiful Dades Valley, where dinner and overnight accommodation await us.
Giorno 2: Valle del Dades – Gole del Todra – Merzouga – Escursione in cammello – Campo berbero
After breakfast, we travel along the winding roads of the Dades Valley, admiring the kasbahs and spectacular mountain views. Our journey continues to the majestic Todra Gorges, a natural canyon with imposing cliffs that are very popular with climbers. After a short walk and lunch along the way, we head to the golden dunes of the Merzouga desert.
Upon arrival, your adventure begins with a camel trek through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can admire a breathtaking sunset over the Sahara. We then reach our desert camp, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner, listen to traditional Berber music around the fire, and spend an unforgettable night under a starry sky in your desert tent.
Giorno 3: Merzouga – Valle del Draa – Anti Atlante – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early to admire the magical sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara before returning by camel to the village of Merzouga. After breakfast, we will begin our return journey, crossing pre-desert landscapes dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, we will pass through the picturesque Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, offering palm groves and breathtaking views.
Our road continues through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, with stops for photos and lunch in Ouarzazate. In the late afternoon, we return through the High Atlas, arriving in Marrakech around 8:00 PM, where we will accompany you to your accommodation, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day tour of the Sahara Desert.
